If you have a particular talent or interest, please use the form link to the right to email your thoughts to the PLPA, which will put you in touch with the committee most closely aligned with your interest. 

Although we describe volunteer opportunities on most committee pages linked to the About US page, we are also interested in thoughts we may not have listed specifically.

If you are interested in getting involved, but are unclear about where your talents might best be applied, please simply express an interest in exploring possibilities.

Below are brief descriptions of the activities of PLPA's primary volunteer committees. More information can be obtained by using the name of each committee as a link to each committee's page.

Membership and Communications - Develop and oversee programs to expand and renew membership and to communicate information that enhances awareness of the PLPA's programs and activities.  Expand and maintain website as appropriate.  Maintain mail list and coordinate annual dues and newsletter mailings.

Activities - Oversee the organization, staffing and conduct of all PLPA sponsored activities. These include events such as the annual meeting, boat parade, and fireworks display.  The committee also coordinates activities of the PLPA Store.

Watershed Conservation - Develop and oversee programs in coordination with local, state, and federal authorities to preserve and protect the many qualities of Pleasant Lake as a natural resource.

Fish Conservation - Develop and oversee programs in coordination with local, state, and federal authorities to protect and promote the lake's natural fish population. The committee also coordinates the annual Rock Bass Marathon fishing contest.

Wildlife Conservation - Develop and oversee programs in coordination with local, state, and federal authorities to protect and promote the lake's natural populations of water birds and other wildlife.

Exotic Invasive Weed Prevention Develop and oversee programs in coordination with local, state, and federal authorities to prevent the introduction of undesirable invasive and non-native weeds into the lake.

Water Quality - Develop and oversee programs to monitor Pleasant Lake and to promote awareness of the Lake's many qualities as a natural resource.

Boating Safety - Develop and oversee programs in coordination with local, state, and federal authorities to educate boaters on Pleasant Lake concerning rules and regulations, and to encourage safety compliance.
