All Things Pleasant On The Lake

“As long as I live, I’ll hear waterfalls and birds and winds sing. I’ll interpret the rocks, learn the language of flood, storm, and the avalanche. I’ll acquaint myself with the glaciers and wild gardens, and get as near the heart of the world as I can.”   John Muir

We have listened to the rain singing here on the lake…day after day after day. In the gardens, hydrangea glows pink in the soft September light. Hummingbirds zip about, sometimes at the feeders, sometimes in the flowers. Once in a while two youngsters will spar, displaying their lovely white tipped tail feathers. Out on the lake, loon chicks Ping and Pong cruise happily, often flapping their handsome wings. They both love to fish with Mother Loon, sometimes with Father Loon as well. Ping and Pong are totally comfortable underwater now, diving with great enthusiasm, chasing fish and exploring the depths. We hope that a glimpse of all these wonders puts us closer to the very heart of the world.
Sending all the best, Kittie
