Pleasant Lake Loon Update

We are very sad to have to report that one of the Loon chicks has been lost. We don’t know if it became weak for some reason or if maybe its sibling ostracized it or what the reason could be. On Friday evening we saw the chick separated from its family but then rejoined it. They were all together on Saturday early morning, but by 9 am we only saw one chick with the two adults. We briefly located the missing chick, but it disappeared soon after. It was seen by several families on Bunker Road on Saturday evening, but has not been seen since. The chick that hatched first is most likely the surviving chick, which is Precious Kittie.

You can see by these photos that Precious Kittie is thriving! Nearly big enough to sink her parents when attempting to climb on their backs!
