All Things Pleasant On The Lake

“Let no one come to you without leaving better and happier.” Mother Teresa

Mother Nature surely agrees with these thoughts. Mornings in late August begin with the sound of geese flying across the path of the rising sun. Morning Glory opens. Each blossom lives only one day, so each works to be the very best. The late season phlox are sprinkled with dew. A thistle feeder attracts goldfinch near the kitchen window, a happy splash of sunny yellow. But wait! This morning there is a splash of brilliant blue! A male Indigo Bunting has joined the finches! WOW! What a gift! Thank you, Thank you! Out on the lake, loon chicks Ping and Pong look glorious in their new coats. Even though they will not don the stunning black and white plumage of their parents until they are two years old, their feathers form beautiful and intricate patterns. Soon we will see them running and flapping across the water as they begin to practice takeoffs. Every glimpse of Nature touches us, leaving us better…happier.
Sending all the best, Kittie
