Kittie Wilson documented the lives of the loons on Pleasant Lake for many years. Kittie was the proud recipient of the 2009 Spirit of the Loon Award from the Loon Preservation Committee where she served as a volunteer. Kittie and her husband John also received the United States Environmental Protection Agency’s Environmental Merit Award for Lifetime Achievement in 2014. She passed away in 2018. Below are some of her photographs.

Other Birds

The PLPA was incorporated in 1969 by local residents wanting to provide for its long-term protection. Since then, the PLPA has kept a watchful eye over the lake’s water quality, wildlife, boating safety, dam and water level.
