Pleasant Lake Loons and Kearsarge
We’re glad to report that all is well on the loon raft everything seems to be progressing along just like it should. The loons proved to be difficult to shoot again this week up close so I figured that I could at least take a long shot so people can get a better feel for the area where the loons are. The pictures both Kittie and Jen take make you feel like you’re right there but in reality they are a ways away. Not only are we careful on land, we also limit water traffic by roping the area off so people recreating on the water don’t get too close to the loons. You can see it in the distance of the picture that’s zoomed in on the loon raft. But as I said, everyone in loon world seems happy and healthy so we’ll just continue to wait patiently. Several of you had asked about our naming tradition with the loons and what was going to happen. The tradition will continue and this year John Wilson will have the honor of naming the loons when they hatch.
In other news, a couple of you had mentioned that you missed the mountain and the view of it, so we’ll see what we can do about more pictures of the mountain. This week there were some fairly dramatic skies and Jen Esten and Jonathan Waage were able to get a couple of pictures of the mountain. The final mountain picture is one that I took last summer almost exactly a year ago after a storm.
