All Things Pleasant on the Lake
“Though I’ve grown old, the bell still rings for me as it does for all who truly believe.” from The Polar Express by Chris Van Allsburg
So interesting watching lake ice form. The lake seems to grow tired of movement, becomes still, and silently drifts off to sleep under a silvery mantle. Snow falls, and she snuggles beneath a quilt of snowflake down. Furry and feathered friends come closer, happily spending more time with us as cold and snow create deeper bonds. Darling Chickadee reaches for a mouthful of snow and for a fraction of a second miraculously holds a perfect snowflake in his beak. Radiant Cardinals hang like Christmas ornaments among the branches. Christmas Eve draws near. The Spirit of Christmas swirls softly through the snow. Do you still hear the sweet sound of the bells on her flowing robes? How wonderful to believe, simply and completely…just believe.
Merry Christmas!
Love, Kittie
