All Things Pleasant on the Lake

“There is nothing in the world more beautiful than the forest clothed to its very hollows in snow.”  Fiona Macleod

Another foot of snow has us clothed to the very hollows! A section of the dock is visible down by the lake, and seems to invite us to “Jump right in! The snow is fine!” Snowshoe trails are once again packed down through the forest, much to the glee of the Scotties, who zoom happily about, pausing for a look around from their favorite fallen log. Squirrels and feathered friends gathered at the feeders and we heard the first of the returning Red-winged Blackbirds…not in full song as yet, but enough low whistles to give themselves away. Hopes of spring are kept alive through this parade of nor’easters by the blessing of ever increasing daylight. Mother and Father Cardinal are now much more visible when they arrive for dinner. Meanwhile, we will enjoy the snow, as the forest is never more beautiful!
Sending all the best, Kittie
